“Tradition predicts the reality of what endures.”

Wally Kidd represents the fourth generation of Walloon Lakers.  At the turn of the twentieth century his great grandfather, Wally Cleveland, built a summer cottage on Walloon’s west arm, just off of what was then called Indiana Avenue.  Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Wally and his family spent their summers here too.

In the spirit of family traditions, Wally attended Johns Hopkins University as did his father and grandfather before him.  Johns Hopkins of course, as easterners know, is the true home of the Kidd family’s favorite sport; the game of lacrosse…and yes they all played lacrosse at “Hopkins” too.

Wally Kidd has a passion for what he does and this has inspired him to achieve great success in the business of real estate. After joining the sales staff at Bay Harbor in 1995, Wally quickly became a top producing agent and soon thereafter the Director Sales & Marketing.  His continued hard work was again rewarded as Wally was promoted to the position of President of Bay Harbor Properties.  Before forming Kidd & Leavy, Wally was responsible for overseeing all of the developer’s sales state wide as President of Victor Properties, based in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Less publicly, Wally works behind the scenes for the benefit of the community.  Wally serves on the committees of The Walloon Lake Association –a preservation group of over 900 members that protects over 1,600 acres of the Walloon watershed and the Bay Harbor Yacht Club.  A board member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic School’s Advisory Committee, he is also on the Walloon Lake Country Club Membership Committee and has twice chaired the Walloon Lake Trust Annual Fundraiser.  It should be no surprise that Wally also brought Lacrosse to Petoskey.  How could he resist?  He founded and now coaches Petoskey Lacrosse.

Wally is a husband and father of two school-age children.  He loves old wooden boats (or for that matter anything old), makes incredible “real” Maryland crab cakes and enjoys sharing in the history of northern Michigan.

Stop by Wally’s Petoskey office and come to know a person who really appreciates this corner of the north.  To know Wally Kidd is an invitation to a successful network.  A network that comes from years of successfully conducting many of the area’s most significant real estate transactions. Whether you are buying or selling that special piece of real estate, you can be confident that his experience will successfully lead you home.
