Northern Michigan in the summer is one of the most desirable spots in the entire country. The combination of sunshine, heat, and freshwater is unmatched. Fortunately, Northern Michigan is covered with inland lakes, making summer the best time to head up north for vacation. Lake Charlevoix
With a surface area of over 17,200 acres, Lake Charlevoix is the third largest inland lake in Michigan. In 2012 USA Today announced that Lake Charlevoix was the second-best lake in America behind only Lake Tahoe.
